Stan the Man is not around any more to check the quality control. In this latest reboot (and it really is sort of a reboot) we have a ton of action which takes up most of the two hours and 25 minutes of this film. There’s no sex, precious little bad language, and plenty of violence. The main thing that Spidey fans will be pleased about, is not the reintroduction of Scorpion as a villain or the Hulk as an ambiguous figure who can’t control his temper, but rather the reintroduction of a relationship between Peter Parker, Ned, and M.J., who if you remember, had their memories of their previous relationship erased. So it really is a starting over in those relationships. We get some cameos of Marisa Tomei playing Aunt May, who is way too young to play the Aunt May from the comic book series, but she adds a bit of sanity to the film while all Hades is breaking loose.
