My short answer, is I think he is basically right about. Psa. 82, Deut. 32, Gen. 6 , and for that matter Gen. 1. It is a interesting point that while God has a divine council in Gen. 1 God alone (i.e. Yahweh) is described as the creator of all of creation. This is a good reason not to read the Trinity into Gen. 1. I would add, that its also a good reason not to see the ‘malak Yahweh’ or angel of the Lord, as the pre-incarnate Christ, not least because as Heb. 1 insists, Christ should not be put into the angel or merely messenger of God category. He is much higher and more than that. Notice as well that while the Greek Orthodox Church takes the story of Abraham’s three visitors to be a visit from the Trinity, Heb. 13 clearly disagrees, saying Abraham was visited by angels or spirit beings as Heiser would call them. Another good point of Heiser is in his reading of Deut. 32, he sees ‘sons of God’ as being assigned as sort of guardian angels of different people groups when the divisio...
