There are moments when life feels so heavy that you are barely holding on. You are doing your best just to get through the day and even that feels like too much. You smile for others but inside you feel fragile worn down and close to breaking. In those moments it can feel like one more thing could push you over the edge.
But even when you are hanging by a thread God is holding you.
God is aware of your weakness. Psalm 103:13 to 14 tells us that the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him for He knows how we are formed He remembers that we are dust God does not expect you to be unbreakable. He understands your limits and meets you there with mercy.
When your strength is gone God’s strength takes over. Second Corinthians 12:9 says My grace is sufficient for you for My power is made perfect in weakness You do not have to be strong for God to work. He steps in when you cannot carry the weight anymore.
There are times when you feel like your faith is barely alive. Jesus spoke to moments like this when He said in Matthew 12:20 A bruised reed He will not break and a smoldering wick He will not snuff out God is gentle with fragile faith. He protects what little strength you have left.
God stays close when you are overwhelmed. Psalm 55:22 encourages us to cast our burdens on the Lord and He will sustain you He will never let the righteous be shaken Sustaining does not always mean removing the burden. Sometimes it means carrying you through it.
Even if you feel like you are barely surviving God has not lost sight of you. Isaiah 41:13 promises For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you Do not fear I will help you That image reminds us that God is not watching from a distance. He is holding your hand.
If you are hanging by a thread today hear this truth clearly. God’s love is not fragile. It does not depend on how much strength you have left. It is strong enough to hold you when you feel like you cannot hold on anymore.
You may feel weak
But you are not alone
God is holding you even now.
