Welcome to BibleStudyMinistry.com, your online Bible Study supplement source. Today we are starting a series titled The Who What When Where Why and How of the Scriptures. We will do it chapter by chapter. Today we have a who, what, when, where, why, and how of Genesis chapter 2.
Genesis 2: Who? The Great Creator and the man.
What? The heavens and earth were finished being made. The Great Creator formed the man. He blew life into the man, making him a living soul and placed the man in a garden towards the east of Eden. The man was given instructions to keep the garden and also given a help meet or wife to be his companion all the days of their lives.
Where? While it is not conclusive, landmarks such as Havilah, Ethiopia, Assyria, and rivers such as Euphrates are mentioned.
Why? The man was ordered to dress and keep the Garden and eat freely from it. It is the beginning of man, the Adamic man and his offspring. Although Adam was given dominion over Eden and the Garden, he was also commanded to stay away from one tree. This was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
How? This chapter connects the building blocks for everything following.
