There are nights when the tears do not stop. You lie in bed exhausted emotionally drained and hurting in ways that are hard to explain. No one sees the pain but God. Crying yourself to sleep can make you feel weak unseen and forgotten.
But tears never push God away.
The Bible shows us that God notices every tear. Psalm 56:8 says You have kept count of my tossings put my tears in Your bottle Are they not in Your book This tells us that your tears matter to God. They are not ignored or wasted.
Crying does not mean your faith is failing. It often means your heart is overwhelmed. David cried out to God again and again. In Psalm 6:6 he said I am worn out from my groaning All night long I flood my bed with weeping God did not reject David for this. He listened and responded with compassion.
God’s love meets you in your deepest sorrow. Psalm 34:18 reminds us The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit When you cry yourself to sleep God is not distant. He is near holding you through the pain.
Even Jesus wept. John 11:35 shows us the shortest but one of the most powerful verses in Scripture Jesus wept He cried openly in front of others showing us that tears are not a lack of faith. They are a human response to pain and loss.
God offers comfort when sleep will not come. Psalm 4:8 says In peace I will lie down and sleep for You alone Lord make me dwell in safety Even when your mind cannot rest God is still watching over you.
If you fall asleep in tears remember this truth. God’s love does not leave you when the tears come. Lamentations 3:31 to 32 says For the Lord will not cast off forever Though He causes grief He will have compassion according to the abundance of His steadfast love
You may go to bed crying
But you are not alone
You are not forgotten
And you are still deeply loved by God even in your tears.
