The Wesley Heritage Tour–Last Day Part3

The walking tour that led to the boat on the Thames went right past the park with all the famous statues, as well as Big Ben and Parliament

David Lloyd George was not only a famous political leader, he was also a very committed Methodist, who showed that politics and faith could in fact work together on occasion.

It would be hard to miss Churchill striding across the park towards Parliament, or the famous suffragette working towards women’s right to vote, not to mention to go to proper colleges like Oxford and Cambridge.

Or Nelson Mandela,  or Gandhi…  a man who influenced  the great Methodist missionary to India from Asbury, E. Stanley Jones, who’s biography of Gandhi was read by Martin Luther King Jr. which in turn led to his ideas about non-violent civil disobedience and protest shaping the civil rights movement in America.

And last but not least some familiar looking tourists awaiting their ride on the Thames cruise boat.
