3–Pre-K—Match a Bible Verse Block Pattern

Bible Story: Nehemiah Built the Wall Nehemiah 2:11-20; 4:1-21; 6:15-16
Life Point: People can choose to love and work together.
Weekly Verse: Do all things in love. 1 Corinthians 16:14

Materials: Bible, six different-shaped wooden blocks, sheet of poster board, permanent marker, index cards, tape

  • Trace six different-shaped blocks in a straight line on poster board. Print the words of the Weekly Verse on six individual index cards. Tape the cards in the correct order on the shaped blocks that you traced, so that the verse will be in order. Set the blocks randomly on the floor.
  • When two or more children show interest in the puzzle, encourage them to work together to match the blocks to the shapes on the paper. Tell the Bible story as they work together. Help them read the Bible verse. Open the Bible to 1 Corinthians 16 and point to verse 14.
