Worry is something almost everyone struggles with at some point in life. It can come from financial pressure, health concerns, relationships, uncertainty about the future, or even the weight of daily responsibilities. When worry takes over, it can drain our energy, cloud our thinking, and weaken our peace. But God never intended for us to carry those burdens on our own. Learning to let go of worry and give it to God is a powerful step in strengthening your relationship with Him.
Worry often comes from trying to control things that are outside of our control. As human beings, we naturally want to know how situations will turn out and how problems will be solved. When we do not have answers, fear can begin to grow. However, faith calls us to trust God even when we do not understand what is happening.
Jesus spoke directly about worry in Matthew 6:25 when He said, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.” He continued by reminding us that life is more than material needs and that God already knows what we need before we ask. This teaching shows us that worry does not add value to our lives. Instead, it takes away our peace.
Letting go of worry does not mean ignoring problems or pretending that everything is perfect. It means choosing to trust God in the middle of uncertainty. It means believing that He sees what we are going through and that He is able to handle what we cannot. When we release our worries to God, we are acknowledging that His power is greater than our fears.
Philippians 4:6 and 7 gives clear guidance on how to deal with worry. It says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds
