This 1,0000 B.C. manuscript was found at Deir el-Medina, and lists numerous excuses for missing work, including: 1) bit by a scorpion; 2) embalming a brother;  3) brewing beer; 4) burying a god; 5) working for a god;  6) spending time with a god.
